French indie studio The Game Bakers have today unveiled Furi; a new hack-and-slash adventure title that will be released onto the PS4 and PC next year.

As explained by the development studio Furi feeds on the tension of one-on-one fights against deadly adversaries. It’s an intense, ultra-responsive hack-and-slash with a unique mix of fast-paced sword fighting and dual-stick shooting. Each of the formidable guardians—designed by Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki—has a unique and surprising combat style that requires focus and skill to defeat. Defeat one boss after another to escape this surreal prison and discover what’s waiting behind the last gate. The high-energy action gets a boost from an explosive soundtrack composed by up-and-coming electro musicians including Carpenter Brut, who created the trailer’s theme.

Further details surrounding Furi will be revealed in due course; but for the time being it will be coming to the PS4 and PC next year.

Video game distributor Daedalic Entertainment have today announced that they have signed an agreement with Australian developer Dane Krams so that his point-and-click adventure game, Anna’s Quest, can be released and distributed worldwide.

Anna’s Quest is a point-and-click adventure game for the PC, whereby players take control of Anna as she uses her telekinetic powers to rescue her grandfarther and defeat the evil creatures of the land; as explained in the games synopsis:

In a land far, far away lives a brave young girl called Anna. She lives a peaceful life in the forest with her grandfather, until a mysterious illness befalls him. And so Anna ventures forth to find a cure for him, but this world is a much more dangerous and bizarre place than she’d thought: putting her journey to a sudden end, the witch Winfriede kidnaps Anna to use her for an experiment.

Winfriede’s experiment is a success – Anna develops telekinetic powers, but this is also where the witch’s schemes are foiled: with the help of Ted, a boy who has been turned into a teddy bear, and new powers she can barely control, Anna manages to escape from her cell.

Together with Ted and her new impressive ability Anna is off for an adventure in the haunting world of Grimm’s fairy-tales and European folklore. Witches, ghosts, trolls and cursed princesses: no matter if you have to save them or outsmart them – they all play their part in Anna’s quest to find a cure for her grandfather.

And since there’s no rest for the wicked, Winfriede breathes down Anna’s neck, eager to reclaim her successful experiment at any cost.

According to Dane Krams Anna’s Quest will combine traditional point-and-click adventure gameplay with unique comical twists to provide a highly entertaining and fully developing storyline that is sure to please all those who play it.

Anna’s Quest will be released exclusively onto the PC and Mac in Spring 2015 with more details to be confirmed as development on the game progresses.

It’s been a month since Fictiorama Studios revealed their new point and click adventure, Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow comes Today, to the public but today the indie styled development studio have announaced that both  Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight campaigns are now up and available for support.

To start off with Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today is a 2D point and click adventure, a game which resemles the older Broken Sword titles, and if successfully supported will be released for PC, Mac, and iPad. Story-wise the game is set in a post-apocalyptic world whereby a disease has ravanged the planet, but this isn’t the only problem as players take control of Michael, a man who is suffering from amnesia. The aim of the game is to uncover who he exactly is and what happened to him while at the same time avoiding death from the disease.

Fictiorama Studios has launched Dead Synchronicity: TCT onto both Kickstarter and Greenlight in hopes of promoting and making the game a reality. The Kickstarter campaign hopes to achieve $45,000 (over $4,000 of which has already been funded) and the money will be used to help produce the game, while the Greenlight campaign aims to promote the title and make it appear on Steam once its finished.

As with all kickstarter campaign various rewards are on offer for those who support it, rewards start from receiving a digital copy of the game to actually working with the development team as an internship. Whichever reward tier you choose you will receive something. The Kickstarter campaign for Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today will end on the 12th April 2014, by which if the funding is successful then everyone will receive their rewards and judging by the amount of support already this could be a possibility.

Interestingly that’s not all, as those wishing to give Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today a try before supporting the kickstarter can do so, as Fictiorama Studios have also released a playable demo for the PC and Mac. This demo offers a reasonable gameplay experience and gives you a nice snippet of what to expect from the final game.

If Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today is successfully funded by the end of the Kickstarter campaign then the game will be released onto the PC, Mac and iPad platforms towrds the end of this year – althought a release date has yet to be confirmed.
