After a relatively long period of silence Rock Band has returned in its fourth instalment and even before you open the box you know it’s going to be an interesting experience.
Rock Band 4 promises to big the biggest, loudest and best Rock Band experience you’ve ever had and what better way to start this journey than with the newly released Rock Band 4 – Wireless Guitar Bundle Edition; a product which i’ll be unboxing today!

My thoughts on the Rock Band 4 – Wireless Guitar Bundle Edition are mixed; mostly because i assumed – for the price at least – for this bundle to be the ultimate package (excluding the full band pack of course) but in actuality it’s a deceptive cash-in. I assumed that all versions of Rock Band 4 on the Xbox One would include the Wireless Receiver, which allow older accessories to be used with the game, but in fact this Guitar Bundle includes just that; the guiter.
In short there is no wireless receiver; so while you may now have ONE guitar to play with if your friends want to play with you then they can’t – not unless they buy an Xbox One Wireless Adaptor or another Stratocaster guitar, which at the moment is proving difficult.
Of course thats not my only quarrel; the packaging it comes in feels thin, flimsy and unspecial – nothing like the Rock Band (or Guitar Hero) bundles of old; furthermore the guitar iteself feels lightweight and cheap. Don’t get me wrong the build quality is still there but compared to the Guitar Hero guitars on the Xbox 360 it does feel extremely disappointing – especially for the price.
The only positive aspects are the game itself which still remain true to the core of the original; however the pain continues whereby each piece of DLC content you bought has to be individually downloaded and with songs still being processed it may take awhile to find the songs you want.
Rock Band 4 is now available for the Xbox One and PS4 within the UK and Europe.
